Most schools in Canada are public and well versed in the reception of foreign students, due to the cultural diversity of their society, as well as their open nature. They follow the national curriculum and most of them are secular, albeit Ontario and a few other provinces have catholic schools districts.
In Welfare, we have personally selected a few schools that meet our requirements and are located in districts of good social and economic standards, whether they are in big cities like Vancouver, Toronto or Quebec, or in smaller or rural settings with an excellent offer of natural attractions, ideal for nature lovers.
Even if they have a greater number of students than their private counterparts, Canada’s state schools are exceptional, and offer a good deal of courses, sports, workshops and extra curricular activities.
Canada’s education system is one of the best in the world, and it stands out from the rest of the countries by a wide margin. In fact, it’s placed third amongst the rest of western countries in PISA’s ranking system and it is officially considered a leader in education, thanks to a strong academic performance in reading, maths and science.
This outstanding education gives students useful skills for the rest of their lives.
School is mandatory up to 16 years of age in the whole of Canada, up to 18 in some provinces.
PRIMARY EDUCATION
