Prep Schools offer education up to secondary school, not beyond 13 years of age, usually with a smaller number of students in the classroom for a closer and bespoke teaching experience. It will really make you feel at home, allowing for an easier adaptation.
You can find a wide range of schools, all with multiple options, not only academic but also in sports, arts and music. Most of them are institutions of a high standard, which offer an excellent education and have been preparing students for a better professional future for over a century.
You can choose between mixed schools or single sex schools, catholic, church schools or secular.
Accommodation in boarding schools is located in the school grounds. There are visits and organised activities for students on weekends. Some schools have a lot of English students, whereas others only have English students from Monday to Friday, and some schools only have international students.
The halls of residence are like a home, and are fully prepared with facilities like living rooms, studies, canteen and shared bedrooms. There is a person in charge of the students’ wellbeing and basic necessities.

There is a half term break of about 10 days in each of the terms of the school year, when you can go back home or stay in the U.K., usually at the school. Then, you also have Christmas and Easter breaks.
