In Canada, only a 6% of students attend a private school, and only a small minority attend elitist schools. Consequently, they represent a small number. Nevertheless, there is a wide range of schools to choose from, catholic, protestant or secular, mixed or single sex schools.
These are schools with a very good reputation and relevance, thanks to their excellent academic program and the reduce number of pupils, which allows them to offer personalized attention and access to the best universities in the country.
You can opt for urban or for rural locations, the latter being mostly boarding schools set in large plots of land.
Canada’s education system is one of the best in the world, and it stands out from the rest of the countries by a wide margin. In fact, it’s placed third amongst the rest of western countries in PISA’s ranking system and it is officially considered a leader in education, thanks to a strong academic performance in reading, maths and science.
This outstanding education gives students useful skills for the rest of their lives.

Students must pass at least 5 specific subjects in the school year, and the leaving certificate examination needed for university. This process doesn’t include the procedure to access university.
